The Development Of The Transmigration Community In Rimbo Bujang From 1975

Abstract

This study aims to determine the development of transmigration in Rimbo Bujang from 1975. The focus of the study is on the social, cultural, and economic life of the transmigration community in Rimbo Bujang. The importance of this research is because the transmigration of people from Java to Rimbo Bujang has brought about very good changes in regional expansion, regional development, social and economic as well as the culture of the people in Rimbo Bujang. The method used in this study is a historical research method which consists of four stages, namely heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Based on the results of the initial research, the arrival of thetransmigration community in Rimbo Bujang was mostly from Central Java. The reason the Javanese people took part in the transmigration program in 1975 was to look for wider land because the land in Java was very narrow while the population in Java was getting denser, the economy was difficult so that they participated in transmigration with the reason of wanting to change their lives and the economy for the better in the future. which will come with the assistance of 5 hectares of land from the government.
